In 2014 Doonbeg was bought by the Trump Organisation, (now President Donald Trump) and renamed Trump International Golflinks Ireland.
Doonbeg is a traditional links-type course situated on over 400 acres of Ireland’s most spectacular links overlooking the majestic Atlantic Ocean. The unusual layout is a combination of five pars 3 and five pars 5 – the par 72 course measures 6,885 yards from the back tees. The 14th hole is probably the most sensational short hole in Ireland. Doonbeg is located between Lahinch and Ballybunion, (a mere 15minute Helicopter flight to either location or 20 to Shannon Airport) making it an ideal central location and firm favorite for heli golfers to locate/base themselves while in Ireland.
